Well it has been two years and one month, but probate finally closed on my brother's house, the buyer found a lender he liked, and I stayed in Saint Louis and a mobile notary came to my house and witnessed all my signatures.
(She absolutely lives in the vicinity: we talked about the golf carts overtaking the nightlife section of town.)
I am in the limbo in which I have sold a house but the check has not been FedExed to me yet. That doesn't feel comfortable.
It also feels uncomfortable that I still don't know where the wireless is hidden. I suspect it's under the house. There are other mysteries that will never be answered, like how the house is supposedly empty now ... when I left behind an entire room filled with junk, and a bedroom set, and an exercise bike. I suspect the local AA continued cleaning it out.
Anyway, God bless them with Dave's house, and the wireless router, and any mold, and the toilets his dogs destroyed when he was in the hospital. Chapter closed.
*hugs* to you!
(also, good on the local AA!)

KC - sigh - now the bank might not cash the check because the letter of administration is years old because this has been the slowest most plodding probate ever.
