This week Granceil went from this:
... to this.
That's closer to the goal, which was this.
I give up. No more portraits. Unless someday I return to Granceil and start over entirely. And as is my wont, my next thing will be easy: drapery and croquet balls in primary colors or something.
Later: I’m adjusting the mouth tilt but I’m not inflicting it on you all.
Even later: it would be fine but I lost the 20 degree tilt to her head. So it will never end.
You're obviously getting better at it, but yes, portraits are *frustrating*! Especially extremely specific, personal portraits.
(you *did* get the look in the eyes, which is amazing! But yes, sad to lose the head tilt.)

KC - I am getting out Dad's analog angle finder and giving it one more pass to get that tilt.

... but you'll probably lose the eyes if you do! Maybe another version, in a month or two?

KC - No! Must try now. EVEN IF i am on a painting slump. It would be too easy to give up in all painting altogether.

Could you try a second copy instead? But also yes, do not give up on painting!!!

KC - I have removed the mouth and the eye on the left, then got the angle measure and scratched in the tilt lines. Should be ready to finish Thursday.
