I should have checked the URL and gone via the web site, not a search. This bra below was a cheap knockoff. More in comments. Trying again!
======================
A while back, AH mentioned the Knix bra in the comments.
I regret to say the Knix bra did not work for me. Sounded good: front closure, no wires, supportive. Sadly, the cons outweighed the pros.
Problem 1: Material
The lacy cups are right out of a standard bra, but the rest is a seamless band of silky yet rubbery elastic. Back, straps, cup connectors in one unending loop. It's like if a colony of silkworms put their butts together and spun out a bra-cup holster. I don't know how to say it other than the crepe felt creepy to me. This is subjective. Other people might say the lack of hems, selvages, seams feels elegant.
Problem 2: Size
I recognize that all my muscle is now fat. I've been this weight before, but pants that zipped up snugly in the past then can't get past my thighs now. I didn't think that there would be a muscle/fat conversion issue with the bra, because as the mammogram report tells me, my breasts have been entirely fat for years. I'm up to size 2x in clothes, but evidently I have maxed out the Knix size chart at size 5x.
Problem 3: Putting it on
This is sad, because it has a front closure, so the ease in putting it on is the big selling point.
- Attempt 1. I unhooked the front closure and put my arms in the straps. I thought the cups would dangle but instead they cupped the spine side of my shoulder blades. I tried to reach behind to grasp the cups but I couldn't get there, plus I didn't want to further aggravate my rotator cuff.
- Attempt 2. I closed it in front at my waist and then tried to put my arms in the straps. I couldn't even find the straps.
- Attempt 3. I closed it entirely and put it on over my head. It did indeed give me some support but it was too much horizontal too little vertical. You need a balance.
So, oddly I am keeping it. I'm not wearing it, but perhaps when the rotator cuffs heals I will try stretching it out and give it another shot.
Oh no, I'm so sorry it didn't work! I am curious which one it was. I have 3 (and have just received a 4th but haven't tried it yet). Mine are the revolution V, the revolution shadow mesh, and the revolution pullover (apparently I am looking to revolt). None are lacy. I have ordered the wing woman but haven't tried it. I will confess the pullover is hard to get on, but once it's on it's great.
Anyway, I swear I don't work for Knix. I feel very guilty for leading you astray.

AH! - I have been taken in. My fast Google search took me to a site that I now see is softlle.com (https://www.softlle.com/products/knix-bras),and they sold me something billed as "Knix Bras - Best Bra For Elderly Sagging Breasts." Harsh, I thought, but true. It's evident I got a strange knock-off, especially now that I have found the true knix.com. Totally getting the zip-up one now and the comfy ribbed front closure.

That was a shock twist! Although I was quite shocked at your description of the bra which now makes sense. I also recall thinking it was taking a long time to get to you (apologies if that sounds like I'm a creepy stalker). But now I feel like the pressure is even higher, because if you order twice and are still unhappy, I will feel doubly responsible! Were you at least able to order while the sale was still on? Perhaps that will be the silver lining.

In my shock I forgot to comment on the "best bra for elderly sagging breasts" part! Wow.

AH - yes, that hurt more than being duped, the bastards.
Posted by: theQueen | December 04, 2024 at 02:08 PM
AH - I got an extra 20% off the sales price.

I'm happy you got the deal at least. Now fingers crossed you like the bras. I have to assume they will be better than the ones on sofftlle.com! And I think I mentioned, if it turns out you're happy with the bras, I also like the leak proof underwear. And that ends my sharing of more than you ever wanted to know about an internet stranger.
(Still shaking my head at the "elderly sagging breasts"!)

AH - how much plastic is involved in the underwear? That seems off-putting.
Posted by: theQueen | December 04, 2024 at 06:43 PM
Plastic? To my knowledge there is no plastic in the underwear (aside from the fact that I'm guessing there is some polyester and/or spandex). If you're asking whether it feels plasticky like a pad, then I would say it doesn't at all. But there is some bulk there, depending on how absorbent they are (there are different options). I have only had ones on the lighter end of absorbency but I find them quite comfortable.

AH - that is intriguing then. My second round of Botox didn't hit the mark like the first one, and I am tired of the pads. (I have faith the next one will be on the nose, but if not I need an option.)
