I took off my wedding ring at the beginning of the lockdown, because I had enough to worry about without the subliminal worry I would lose my ring.
Now I find that I am called in to work, or need to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles, and I neglect to hunt down my ring and put it on. Out in the world without my magic token. No man has approached me. Well, one thing happened: I was talking to a man and mentioned Gary and he said, "Who's Gary" in a way that suggested he didn't think I was married (as I was so obviously thrilled to be talking to a man).
It seems people should be able to look at me and realize I'm married. You know, I bet women do, because of our refined feminine intuition.
I have a work event coming up; I suppose I need to see if the ring fits.
