This is the current state of the Country-western Wig of my Youth.
I took thinning shears to it, and like it better piled up in my head, but it is still too much hair.
And, obviously, the artful curl is too artful. You can't look like, "Oh, dear, that curl has escaped me," when it's the same tousled curl day after day.
I was assured that after a year of wearing wigs I would stop feeling like I had too much hair. I have not made that transition, and it has been a year and a quarter.
That is why this week's list of to-dos starts with an appointment to go to the professional and have her thin things out.
I would expect that 1. it feels like a lot of hair for longer if it is not your own hair (but presumably the advice was for wig-wearers specifically?), 2. wearing it during all waking hours probably shifts that faster and I am hoping for the state of your own hair/skull you're not doing that, and 3. that is legitimately just a *lot* of hair.
Good luck.

KC- I am going with 3. Also I tucked the curl away today; that helped.
