My favorite time is when things tip from bad to intolerable. So bad it makes you laugh.
That is the current state of my house: intolerable. It was only bad this morning.
I’ve mentioned before how the house is in chaos because of the gypsum drywall dust and the mitigation attempts: HEPA shopvacs and air purifiers. And a new vacuum that was used one time before it was deemed inadequate. I am unable to hang my new curtains because they would be contaminated by the invisible dust still swirling through the air ducts.
Then this morning one bathroom bulb out of three went out. The replacement wasn't quite the same shade of white. Usually, this would be unacceptable, but seriously, I thought, why am I trying for perfection? In Chaos Manor?
And then, I walked in the snow by the peony bed and saw that I never did the fall peony cleanup. In fact, the withered stalks were still twisted in their peony cages.
Usually, this would make me research worst-case scenarios (mutated peonies!), but all it did was tip the house situation from bad to intolerable. So I just laughed and shrugged it off.
