I learned:
- Dishwashers have filters in them, and those filters must be cleaned on occasion. Happily, mine just had a lot of soap scum and a chewed-up minor dishwasher piece.
- You can drop off your car for service, but when Mini Cooper calls to tell you it's done, you can no longer say, "Pay for it now, and pick it up later, just lock they keys inside." Even if the service department let you, the car won't. They get squawky if you lock the keys inside.
- The space race was very fast in the late sixties, but there was all kinds of stuff going on in the mid sixties. The Russians flew a probe just shy of Venus before I was even born. Then we flew past Venus, then the Russians flew past Mars. They landed on both the moon and Venus in a month. And the Germans were the first to get a vehicle to space, period.
