Well, last week I made a zoom background. It was designed to surround my head and to make it clear that I was wearing a wig.
I tested that background during a little Zoom meeting I had by myself.
Suffice it to say they need a word for when you still have the last meeting's zoom background up when you start your next meeting, especially when the next meeting is with a room of total strangers you will, thank God, never see again. I had to explain that no, I was not currently wearing a wig.
I did not use the background on Monday, the day I first wore the pixie cut, Servalan. My first meeting was a woman who has never seen the back of my head, given that she was hired during the pandemic. Ergo, she is unaware of my hair problems, so the background would look peculiar. I had already told my direct team to expect it, and I am certain they noticed because I kept fluffing my head to make it look more unkempt.
(I find that Servalan likes to be worn low on the brow, at least half an inch below my natural hairline. Any higher and I look like Nathan from South Park.)
It doesn't seem like I have a good day to use the Zoom announcement background until I introduce Bob to the entire department on Friday afternoon. That will be fun.
