I plan to paint over that part I hate and start that over.
The small peony went from this:
... to complete failure. I give up. Pulling the plug.
It’s just like when you say a word too many times and it stops making sense. It was supposed to look like this:
Of course I realize not that while this was a painting in the glazing book, it wasn’t a step-by-step example. I am going to gesso over this one and reclaim the canvas.
Uh. I don't even *like* the painting you were aiming for, nor does it entirely mentally resolve for me into a flower. So: no demerits for "failing" at that one.
Better luck next time! And hooray for being able to gesso over!

KC - I honk I did aim too high with that one. To have done it correctly I couldn’t have traced it beforehand, unless I used pencil, glazed grey all over the pencils, and then tried to use white to hide the pencil which doesn’t always work. Or if I had free-handed it, which isn’t my way.
