No oil painting this week. I'm all about the embroidery now.
If you recall, I have to embroider over all the bacon grease spots on my silk shirt. The embroidery is taking up all my relaxation time. It's nice. It's kind of like doodling on your clothing.
The work around the neck was done on machines staffed by what I assume were Chinese children. The chalk marks indicate Bacon. The variously clunky hand embroidery on the torso was done by me.
That is a lot of bacon. Yipes.
"Painting" with embroidery floss over oil: almost oil painting? :-)

KC - the oil-based bacon grease is not as luminous as oil paint.

Crumbs, what a lot of effort. I would have just worked through the supermarket's shelf of grease removers. And then probably thrown the top out once the silk was sufficiently degraded.

Big Dot - you would have tried the supermarket remedies before you ironed the shirt as I did, setting in the stain. I did try baking soda and Lestoil. And really, the embroidery is very relaxing.
