My last mention of my work husband Tim was back in 2011, when I moaned that he was leaving TeddyJ for another job. Well evidently, you never can truly leave TeddyJ, because he returned to the fold last year. He's in a building across town, so I don't see him as often as I like.
Tim has that a lovely quality that makes you feel like you are the most fascinating person in the room. That quality makes Tim an excellent host. (I know Mom said that Gary had that quality too, props given, though right now I feel Gary finds Rachel Maddow the most interesting person in our room. ("Sh! I'm listening to this!"))
When Tim invited us to his karaoke party, I thought, "How can I get Gary to go to this party? He loves karaoke." Surprisingly, Gary was up for the party and for singing in public. We were up on stage singing his showstopper, Everybody Loves a Lover. Well he sang; I kind of chanted in an atonal fashion. But, I made up for my poor singing by SELLING that song.
The party rekindled Gary's interest in the karaoke, though the machine that we used to run the software has long since died. But I sense a return to Garyoke. That way, if we are invited back to Tim's annual party, I can practice beforehand.
