Sounds like your house has plenty of character. When you look at all those old things, you remember people and experiences. Your life is a little bit richer.
In the late nineties, I lived in northern New Mexico. I loved it, traveled all over the state and bought plenty of Pueblo pottery, Navajo rugs, and colorful prints of adobes and poppies. Also, have little momementos from travels to the New England states, Virginia, and other places I have visited or lived.
My sister tells me her house always looks clean because she has nothing on the walls. (Yes, I'm feeling just a bit pissy about her remark.)

Arlene - I have waaaaay too much on the walls. That’s what happens when you have artist friends.
