Around here, if you want to get out of the house and stay out of the heat, the options are limited: indoor golf, shopping, dining, and movies. Of course there is an exciting city nearby with museums and plays and music, but I still live seven miles from even seeing the skyline unless it’s an exceptionally clear day.
So, we go to movies.
(Incidentally, the nagging Fandango mystery of “how did I buy the last two seats, but now I’m sitting in a nearly empty theater” has been solved. Fandango shares the seats with the theater chain’s app. When Fandango tells me all the seats are sold out, they mean the allotted percentage of Fandango seats are sold out. The theater app’s seats are still available, but no one buys tickets there, you go to Fandango.)
It feels like we’ve been to one movie per week this summer and there aren’t 52 good movies a year, so I need a new air-conditioned activity. Indoor sports? Perhaps a cooking class? Perhaps we could take up drinking in bars? What do you all do?
