Way back in May 2009, I was sad that BNL had broken up, and did not like the new situation.
Little did I know that a mere nine years later, BNL would be playing together again - temporarily.
Tonight they get inducted into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards. (Economic Canadians - they don't have a separate rock and roll induction party but wrap it instead into the Junos, which seem to be the Canadian Grammys.)
And since they are being inducted, all the past members are getting together to play "If I Had a Million Dollars" and "One Week". All the members - including Steve and also the bass player's brother Andy, who was the early pianist, I think.
Supposedly I'll be able to watch it live today (Sunday March 25) if I go here.
I anticipate that it will make me sad and nostalgic.
It *did* make me sad and nostalgic! Much more than I expected. I'm at just the right age for BNL to have had a major influence on my university/post-university years and I was surprised at how moved I was to see them all together again.
For what it's worth, I saw them in concert as a four-piece a couple of years ago and it was still a fun show full of great music. But there was something magical about seeing Steve and Ed back together again, wasn't there?

There was - even though I found myself taking a second glance at every exchange the see if it seemed genuine.
