Yesterday evening Anderson Cooper was wrangling three or four pundits. They were all talking at the same time, and he shook his head and sighed, "no one listens when you all speak at once."
I was listening because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They were arguing about what personal attacks are acceptable. One pundit said, "I think if Trump goes after Hillary Clinton because of Bill Clinton's affairs, then Hillary should be allowed to go after Trump for his affairs."
whaaaat? That isn't tit for tat. That isn't equivalent. If Trump brings up Bill Clinton's wayward penis to slight Hillary, then Hillary should respond by detailing Melania Trump's sex life. That would make as much sense.
I was watching the Undercard debate and Carly Fiorino just spelled it out for me. It would seem that if your spouse cheats on you, and you DONT dump him with the speed Carly would, you must be hanging on because you want power and will do anything to get it.
She said it in answer to a question about personal attacks. "I never attacked Hillary Clinton!" she said, shocked, affronted, and then went on to personally attack Hillary Clinton.
If it were true that Hillary just put up with Bill's affairs because she got to be First Lady in return, why wouldn't she leave him now that she has more power than he does? And wouldn't the savvy political move be to dump him right now? She'd get sympathy votes.
If CNN really does start discussing Bill Clinton's escapades as if it had anything to do with Hillary Clinton's business I will lose my mind.

Hattie - I know! AND she has a child. I don't think divorce is a sin, I'm not that Catholic, but Carly Fiorino is divorced. So a divorced women is claiming the moral high ground over a woman who didn't get a divorce.
