So, today I went to West County Mall to follow Sugared Harpy's suggestion all attend the Chocolate Challenge. We got there at 3:30. We got our color-coded cups of five milk and five dark chocolates so we could vote on the best Saint Louis chocolate.
I looked closely at the cup with the pink dot. The pieces of chocolate were clearly stamped "Lindt." In another cup were some pieces stamped "Godiva." I realized I had been too engulfed in double-blind trials recently, and worried I could still judge impartially. Lindt got our votes for milk; I think I voted Godiva for dark.
The results were to be announced shortly after four. I think it was four-forty-five before all the votes were tallied and announced. The vendors had packed up all their chocolate. The crowd (but for us) had dispersed. Gary had read all the email on his Blackberry, that's how long it took.
Evidently recounts were required. If you were there, I was the person who cheered when Lindt won by two votes. TWO! That would be me and Gary. If we hadn't been there, the Supreme Court would have had to get involved and where would we be now?
