Okay. Too early to think. Let the blog community think for me. Here are the directions:
a) Find your iTunes library or iPod.
b) Put it on Shuffle mode.
c) Answer the following questions with the songs in the right order.
d) Be amazed, amused, or left asking yourself "What the F? This makes no sense."
e) Pass it on. (Consider yourself passed.)
1. What's my mood like right now?
Magic Carpet Ride/Steppenwolf
I do like to dream. And it is six thirty am.
2. How's tomorrow going to be for me?
Friends O' Mine/Bowling for Soup
Good, good. Mental Note: Speak to friends tomorrow. I've been heads-down at work.
3. What kind of person am I?
I Fell Asleep On My Arm/Aquabats
No, please don't run out and download this song. Please. I got it for the Mormon Inquisition Mix as the Aquabats are/have been LDS (as are The Killers, Warren Zevon, and Maroon 5). But it is interesting that a song about peripheral neuropathy defines me.
4. Am I loved?
We Shall Overcome/Pete Seeger
Okay then. A song about unity in the face of hardship. Obviously some marriage counseling is in my future.
5. How can I achieve my highest potential?
Why Can't I/Liz Phair
Well, because I'm lazy, Liz, thank you.
6. What should I do with my life?
Come As You Are/Nirvana
Okay, right now if you asked me to hum Come As You Are I couldn't do it. (I'm actually in ITunes looking at the Party Shuffle.) But it is a good answer. It appears I should spend life in my blue pajamas.
7. Is everything really going to be alright in the end?
Little Boxes/Pete Seeger
Um....I guess not. Little coffins, on a hillside? Shiver.
8. What is my best quality?
Shiver/Maroon 5
Okay, I set you up. HAahahah. My little joke.
9. How does my sex life look?
Crazy Little Thing Called Love/Queen
Well, good. And at least it wasn't Shiver.
10. What is the meaning of life?
The Old Apartment/Barenaked Ladies
Hmmm. A song about returning with your girlfriend to your old apartment and pining for the old times, the crooked landing, the crooked landlord. This is where we used to live. It IS about the only song I can play on my electric (currently named Blondie, but looking for a new name).
11. What do people think of me?
Worry A Lot/The Like Young
No! I don't. I never worry. If there's a situation, I do something about it, if I can't do anything about it, there's no point in worrying. Do people think I worry a lot? This worries me.
12. Would I make a good catch?
Katmandu/Bob Seeger
Best Rock Song ever. Katmandu! Goodnight everybody!
13. How crazy am I?
Welcome to Paradise/Green Day
Dear Mother, Can you hear me whining?
14. Will I have a good life in general?
Be My Yoko Ono/Barenaked Ladies
Hah! A great upbeat song I can play, except for the F, which is one quarter of the song.
15. Can anyone ever really love me?
Ride/Liz Phair
It starts with "As I stumble into bed, I curse the devil in my head" and it ends with "positive T-Cell regeneration." Do my T-Cells love me? I think not. Then again, do I really need an answer to this question?
16. Can a best friend and I ever be more than friends?
Celebrity/Barenaked Ladies
I have no celebrity best friends. Peculiar.
17. What's going to happen to me this week?
Sad Sad Situation/Bowling for Soup
Oh, great. Back to bed for me.
18. Where will I be a year from now?
Unfinished/Barenaked Ladies
Cool! Everything is unfin.
19. What is my greatest wish?
16/Green Day
Every night I dreamed the same dream, of getting older and older all the time. Sounds good.
20. What is the love of my life feeling at this very moment?
Extraordinary/Liz Phair
Liz, you are so diplomatic. Right now he is waking himself up by rolling over and shrieking: "Ten till Seven!" in a tone of panic. This is how my every day starts. Every few minutes when the clock radio announces the time, he has to amp up the drama to get himself out of bed. When I've warned him I really don't like being awakened by screaming, he complains he's just trying to help. He is extraordinary, if you WANT TO PUT IT THAT WAY.
21. How will I die?
Upside Down/Jack Johnson
Jesus!
22. What will happen after I die?
Supercollider/Fountains of Wayne
(Okay, Gary just got out of bed and bellowed "Five till Seven!" at me. Shut UUUPPPPPP.) And Supercollider? What? It occurs to me I don't even know the lyrics to this song. But evidently they include: "Stay low to the ground or they'll sniff you out / You never know what you will find /When you go."
23. How do my friends feel about me?
Call Me Calmly/Barenaked Ladies
A song about visiting a prostitute? Basic service, sixty bucks? What the?
Ak! Gotta go. Gotta go because ITS SEVEN ELLEN ITS SEVEN GET UP GET UP. "Don't CARE." I yell back.
Aw, your Prophetic iPod is way cooler than mine. Good fun, Queen. I think you should TOTALLY come as you are in your blue pjs.

Well, as it happens the blue pjs are the ones my stylist has selected I wear to the pajama party on the BNL cruise in January. So I will be venturing out in them, just not this year.
