Marcia

No mostaccioli at Jewish weddings. None.

I take that back - there may be mostaccioli at my sister's wedding, but only if the Gatlinburg wedding package includes a post-nuptuals gift certificate to a local Fazolli's.

Catherine

Having been raised Catholic, I know full well about the liquor and the dancing. Liquor because, hey, it's liquor!, and dancing because you can't NOT have a group of Filipinos together and not have some dancing take place. What can I say? We're dancing machines.

However, I will put my foot down at the Dollar Dance if and when I get married. Why ruin a good dress?

And are you saying that if I was still with my boyfriend who hails from the great city of Saint Louis and we got married, we would have had mostaccioli at our wedding?

TheQueen

Catherine - Consider yourself well rid of the Saint Louis boyfriend, because all our region's religions (except, as Marcia notes, the Jews) believe in the bonding properties of the holy mostaccioli.

Marcia - she's marrying the Oompaloompa? Go ON.

Catherine

Have I mentioned that I don't think I've ever HAD mostaccioli? Is it like a baked ziti? I have no idea.

And the Saint Louis boyfriend is now engaged to someone else. Go figure.

TheQueen

Well, clearly he has no taste. Imagine how tasteless his wedding will be.

And I had to google baked ziti. Cut those noodles so they have a diagonal slant on both ends, lay on more red sauce and you have it.

Catherine

Ah! So that is what mostaccioli is! I get it. I shall try it next time I'm getting some Italian food.

Not to spend too much time on the Saint Louis boyfriend, but he broke up with me two hours before I had to board my return flight after a weekend visit with him. Tasteless AND rude. But it's been years now so I'm not bitter anymore, but I sure was back then. Oh, boy.

And I'm sure his actions are in no way a reflection of all the men of Saint Louis.

TheQueen

Wait - Was the Saint Louis breakup immediately followed by the Granola Bar Incident?

Catherine

Yes, that would be the correct order of events. Saint Louis Boyfriend breaks up with me in Washington, DC (where he still lives), and Nice Gentleman Seatmate On Plane offers up the granola bar hours later.
