The phone rang this afternoon. The talking caller id droned that it was "Out-of-Area" but for some reason I glanced at the number. Since it was from my area code, I decided to give them the courtesy of a hang-up. It saves them time, I figure, and it is satisfying to me.
For some reason I picked up the phone and didn't hang up immediately. A robot poll began asking me questions.
I assumed the robot was Republican, but it might have been a Democrat robot, I didn't know at the time.
"Who will you be voting for in November for President. Press 1 for Barack Obama - "
"Preeessssiiiident Obama," I muttered, and pressed 1.
"Who will you be voting for in November for senator? Press 1 for Todd Akin. Press 2 for Cla - "
2222222222222222. An extra long press for Claire.
It asked me a few more questions, and I answered with all my Registered Democrat bleeding liberal heart.
Then it quite politely asked if I considered myself Republican. Press 1. Democrat? Press 2. Independent? Press 3.
I pressed 3. Just to mess with them. Bwhahahaha. Mitt wants that 5-10% of independents? Well, that'll shake his confidence.
And then they asked if I was in the militar -
Another lie. 111111111. Mitt and Akin lose the military vote too! Ah, they'll be running scared.
The robocall said it was provided by the "American Future Fund," which is indeed a Republican-leaning 501c group. I think they called this "mischief" in the last election. Seriously, it was so much fun I'm answering all calls from now on in case it's a poll.
You're an inspiration. Maybe I'll pick up the phone one of these times...
I got a donation request from Mitt the other day, and I was going to mail it back with a big "NO I DO NOT SUPPORT MITT ROMNEY AND I AM NOT MAKING A DONATION!" on it, but it would have cost me 45 cents and it gave me just as much satisfaction to write it on the form and then recycle it.

Kristie - If you HAD sent the form back to Mitt you would have been placed immediately on all Romney robo-calls. Then you could join me in undermining his confidence.
